Ellen Neely Miss S.C. Poultry Festival 2011
Ellen Neely, a Junior at the University of South Carolina, daughter of John & Rebecca Neely of Lexington, was crowned Miss South Carolina Poultry Festival and winner of a $1000.00 scholarship on Saturday, March 19, at the annual Miss South Carolina Poultry Festival beauty pageant sponsored by the South Carolina Poultry Festival and Hosted by the Woman’s Society of Batesburg-Leesville. Ellen will represent the Festival at numerous functions during her reign.
Contestants vied for 9 titles and $1500.00 in scholarships. The proceeds raised are awarded in scholarships each year to the Miss Division winners, community continuing education students and students of School District Three on Awards Day held in May at the B&L High School.
Mrs. Lois Black, president of the Woman’s Society and vice-president of Black’s Tire Service, Inc. served as chairman and Janet Ricard, vice president of the Woman’s Society of Batesburg-Leesville and teacher at the Batesburg-Leesville Primary School served as director, assisted by Woman’s Society members.
Mistresses of Ceremonies were Shannon Shull, of Shull Studios in Batesburg-Leesville and Dr. Gariane Gunter, former Mrs. South Carolina and Mrs. United States of Batesburg-Leesville. Accredited judges were Jackie Dunn, Maggie Hill, and Melvin Searles of Columbia, Auditors were Dr. Terry Fellers, Wendi Fincher and Jessica Oswald.
The Queen and her court are as followed: In the Miss Division, 2nd place and winner of a $300.00 scholarship is Chelsea Jayne Smith, freshman at University SC – Beaufort and daughter of Darren & Celeste Smith of Orangeburg, 3rd place and winner of a $200.00 scholarship is Whitney Paige Robertson sophomore at University of South Carolina, daughter of Dale & Alice Robertson of Batesburg-Leesville, Photogenic winner is Kaundra Dee Belton, a junior at B&L High School, daughter of Johnny & Willie Mae Belton of Batesburg-Leesville.
Other Division Winners are: Baby Miss & Photogenic is Cantlee Rose Smith, daughter of Darren & Celeste Smith of Orangeburg, 2nd place is Bristol Linn Leaphart, daughter of Brandon & Ashley Leaphart of Lexington, 3rd place is Khloe Nicole Williams , daughter of Kayla M. Cothran of Batesburg-Leesville, Teeny Miss is Lilian V. Jones, daughter of Kelly Lawson of Batesburg-Leesville, 2nd place & photogenic winner is McKinleigh Vasquez, daughter of Mike & Stacey Vasquez of Batesburg-Leesville.
Tot Miss is Jewel Avery Stockman, daughter of Brandon & Heather Stockman of Gilbert, 2nd place is Zoey Belle Rish, daughter of Erin Rish, of Lexington, 3rd place is Cameron Lyn Asbill, daughter of Adam & Roni Asbill of Batesburg-Leesville, Photogenic winner is Bailey Rowe, daughter of Greg & Cheryl Rowe of Lexington.
Wee Miss is Zoey Rowe, daughter of Kevin & Amanda Clark of Batesburg-Leesville, 2nd place & photogenic winner is Delaney Brooke Harvey, daughter of Brett & Aprille Harvey of Gilbert, 3rd place is Sawyer Melane Buzhardt, daughter of Ashley & Danielle Drake Buzhardt of Batesburg-Leesville.
Tiny Miss is Isabella Grace Gunter, daughter of Tracy & Gariane Gunter of Batesburg-Leesville, 2nd place is Kaylee Renee Caughman, daughter of Bobby & Andrea Caughman of Lexington, 3rd place is Adriane Morris, daughter of Dee Dee Morris of Prosperity, Photogenic winner is Caroline Blair Taylor, daughter of Gary & Brantlee Taylor of Batesburg-Leesville.
Little Miss and photogenic winner is Gracen Elizabeth Torbett, daughter of Shawn & Becky Torbett of Lexington, 2nd place is Annabelle Summers, daughter of Jamie & Carla Summers of Batesburg-Leesville, 3rd place is Jade Mallory Temples, daughter of Wesley & Michelle Temples of Batesburg-Leesville.
Young Miss Hattie Grace Summers, daughter of Jamie & Carla Summers of Batesburg-Leesville, 2nd place is Cicely Deatrice Wise, daughter of Janice Wise and James Generette of Batesburg-Leesville, 3rd place is Ayron Dupert, daughter of Darryl & Carla Dupert, of Warrenville, Photogenic winner is Abigail Whiteman, daughter of Hattie Thomas of Aiken.
Teen Miss and photogenic is Kaylee Michelle Cuthbertson, daughter of Steve and Shelly Cuthbertson of Lexington, 2nd place is Karli Rebecca Roberts, daughter of Ricky & Angie Roberts and Tammy Roberts of Lexington, 3rd place is Elise Mariel Watt, daughter of Bruce & Suzan Watt of Chapin.
The Woman’s Society and the S.C. Poultry Festival Committee are truly grateful to all who participated in the success of this year’s pageant.
