Karli Rebecca Roberts Miss S.C. Poultry Festival 2012

Karli Rebecca Roberts, a senior at White Knoll High School, daughter of Ricky & Angie Roberts and Tammy Roberts of Lexington, was crowned Miss South Carolina Poultry Festival and winner of a $1000.00 scholarship on Saturday, March 17, at the annual Miss South Carolina Poultry Festival beauty pageant sponsored by the South Carolina Poultry Festival and Hosted by the GFWC-SC Woman’s Society of Batesburg-Leesville.  Karli will represent the Festival at numerous functions during her reign.
Contestants vied for 9 titles and $1500.00 in scholarships.  The proceeds raised are awarded in scholarships each year to the Miss Division winners, community continuing education students and students of School District Three on Awards Day held in May at the B&L High School.

Mrs. Lois Black, president of the Woman’s Society and vice-president of Black’s Tire Service, Inc. served as chairman.  Mrs. Janet Ricard, vice president of the Woman’s Society of Batesburg-Leesville and administrative assistant at Saxe Gotha Elementary school assisted Mrs. Black as co-director.  Mistress of Ceremonies was Dr. Gariane Gunter, former Mrs. South Carolina and Mrs. United States of Batesburg-Leesville.  Accredited judges were Katie Alexander, Tommy Barrs, Leigh Powell-Kestner, and Xennie Weeks.  Auditors were Pam Banks, Dr. Terry Fellers, and Jessica Oswald.

The Queen and her court are as followed: In the Miss Division, 2nd place and winner of a $300.00 scholarship and photogenic winner is Megan Elizabeth Shuler a freshman at Clemson University and daughter of Barry & Patsie Shuler of Sumter, 3rd place and winner of a $200.00 scholarship is Haleigh Mikal Fox a sophomore at University of South Carolina, daughter of Danny & Dana Fox of Lexington.

Other Division Winners are: Baby Miss & Photogenic is Brookelyn Smith, daughter of Marley & Ryan Smith of Batesburg-Leesville, 2nd place is Haleigh Nevach Brown, daughter Megan Rish and Desimond Brown of Lexington, 3rd place is Arialle Breyanna Dukes, daughter of Kimberlee Coffman and Bran Dukes of Batesburg-Leesville,

Teeny Miss is Laila Amya Leaphart, daughter of Gregory Leaphart and Katara Quattlebaum of Batesburg-Leesville, 2nd place is Jastaria Elease Caldwell, daughter of Jermain & Tameka Caldwell of Lexington, 3rd place and photogenic winner is Khloe Brown, daughter of Kayla Cothran of Batesburg-Leesville.

Tot Miss is Lillian Virginia Jones, daughter of Kelly Lawson and Kenneth Jones of Batesburg-Leesville, 2nd place and photogenic winner is Ryleigh Dunbar, daughter of Kayla & Ryan Dunbar of Aiken.

Wee Miss and photogenic winner is Cameron Asbill, daughter of Roni & Adam Asbill of Batesburg-Leesville, 2nd place is Abbi Robinson, daughter of Haley Robinson of Lexington, 3rd place is Ashlyn Paige Weaver, daughter of Katie Weaver of Cayce.

Tiny Miss is Gracie Bowers, daughter of Hal & Gina Bowers of Lexington, 2nd place is Chandler Alexander Etheredge, daughter of Willie & Cindy Etheredge of Batesburg-Leesville, 3rd place and photogenic winner is Meghan Anne Duvall, daughter of Barry & Kim Duvall of Batesburg-Leesville.

Little Miss is Haley Noelle Heustess, daughter of Edgar & Kristie Heustess of Lexington, 2nd place and photogenic winner is Ashleigh Grace Smith, daughter of Charles & Debbie Smith of Cayce, 3rd place is Kaylee Renee Caughman, daughter of Andrea & Bobby Caughman of Lexington.

Young Miss is Meagan Bostic, daughter of Cindy & Mark Bostic of Gilbert, 2nd place is Caleigh Parker Woovis, daughter of Georgie & Shannan Woovis of Lexingon, 3rd place is Mary Ann Shafffer, daughter of Paula & Bryant Shaffer of West Columbia, Photogenic winner is Hannah Caldwell, daughter of Drew & Vicky Caldwell of Lexington.

Teen Miss is Hannah Reed Woovis, daughter of Georgie & Shannon Woovis of Lexington, 2nd place and photogenic winner is Catherine Hood Kirkland, daughter of Joe & Teri Kirkland of Lexington, 3rd place is Lexie deMoya, daughter of Laurie & David deMoya of Lexington.
The Woman’s Society and the S.C. Poultry Festival Committee are truly grateful to all who participated in the success of this year’s pageant.  Special thanks are extended to the Twin City News, Saluda Sentinel, Aiken Standard, Lexington Chronicle, Newberry Observer, & The State newspapers for the tremendous publicity, and all volunteers who gave so generously of their time to help provide scholarships to needy students.
